3 Haiku

I.
Barely visible,
All whirring wings and striped legs,
Streambed insects rise.

II.
What light faded from that
Good dog’s brown eyes as he died?
Same body, but changed.

III.
Life is what we call
That mysterious light that fades,
Changing flesh to clay.
