Orpheus’ Blessing

Orpheus’ Blessing
Betsy McKenzie

How can I forget how it came back into my life,
Over and over again, like a balm, like a blessing?
When I was lost and at my last stretch,
Music saved me, saved us all, and brought us home;
Home to our own best selves.

So bless the musicians, the singers, the writers.
May their hearts be eased and homes be warmed.
Wherever they wander, may they be welcome,
And may the music save them and bring them home,
Home to their own best selves.
