Limestone seabeds
With tiny shells.
How amazing.
A snapshot of
Death – or was it
Life? – a million years
Ago; tossed up in the
Sunshine, to be found.

I have fossils in my mind.
Perfect casts of
Moments encased in
Mud, buried deep within
My memory.
Time and
Pressure turned them into stone.
Tectonics and
Erosion have
Exposed them to the elements.
